An accidental art trail - SALA Festival

I've ended up on an accidental visual art trail this weekend, so thought I'd share.

I'm in Adelaide and while checking out some of my favourite hubs of creative shops and good coffee, I've managed to stumble upon some great local art across the city and 'burbs.
August in SA means visual art month as the annual state-wide SALA Festival kicks off - the South Australian Living Artists Festival. And they make it ridiculously easy to find the art - you literally can't get away from it, with a huge chunk of it in shops, cafes and other public spaces like the Town Hall and Adelaide Airport.

So if you're in town from now until the end of August check 'em out and browse some great stores while you're at it.

My trail started at the eclectic Ebenezer Place, part of the Rundle Street East precinct.

I love visiting the jewellery and sustainable fashion store Naomi Murrell, which houses their own fashion label as well as one of my personal faves, Adelaide-based Vege Threads (more on this label soon!)

Naomi Murrell has photography from the very talented Jessica Clark gracing the walls, in About and Falling.

Across Ebenezer Place at Australian design store Council of Objects is the gorgeous, simplistic design from Hunt Furniture.

Then it was over to Queen Street in Croydon for lunch at the Red Door Bakery (pity this isn't a food blog - their hand potted pies and sausage rolls are to die for!) whose walls are adorned with the "manic but generally sunny" works of Emma Grierson.

A couple of doors down is the ever-changing retail, styling and design store One Small Room.

One Small Room are showcasing the works of three different artists including Holly Younger (pictured), forming Treasures from Other Worlds.

This is just a small taste of what's to see this month, and I managed this all in one Saturday!
